In the beginning.....

Well, here it is.  My first ever blog entry.  Not something I ever thought I'd be doing, but I've been enjoying reading so many other blogs lately I wanted to get in on the action too.

I don't have high expectations, as I've never been successful at keeping a diary.  I have a couple of quilt projects I'm about to start, so at this stage my aim is to update my blog with my progress on these.  This will probably end up being primarily a craft blog I think, maybe a bit of knitting, dressmaking, and these new-found obsessions of mine - quilting and stitching.  If anything else interesting occurs I'll make an effort to post it here too, but don't hold your breath - it's a very dull life I lead!

As I learn how to use Blogger I will be improving my page (page/blog - I don't even know what to call it!!).  Right now I have no idea where to start.  Any suggestions most welcome!

So to my family and friends, here I am in blogland.  I hope you enjoy seeing what I'm up to.

OMG now that I've made my intentions public I'm going to HAVE to pull my finger out!  Eeek!!

  7. Welcome to blogland and good luck with your new projects. Take lots of pictures! A blog is so much fun with lots of pictures! Even though I get a thrill out of comments on my blog, my favourite thing is looking back at what I have been up to.

  9. Hi Helen! Welcome!! You will love blogging although you are right- public intentions are scary!! I'm a starter and not a finisher so I find my blog helps me get things done- even if it is just to have a picture to blog about!

  13. A blog is a wonderful record for you as you look back. I love mine. I thought mine would just be about my crafting successes, but the flops have appeared too and my family snuck in too. I love re-reading mine periodicallly. Have fun, and make sure you connect with other bloggers. That has been fun for me too.

  18. Welcome, Helen. I'm sure you will find blogging lots of fun. Thanks for your nice comment on my Day at the Park quilt. Not sure if you realise you are set up as a 'no-reply' blogger. This means I can't reply privately when you make a comment. Chookyblue has instructions on her blog if you want to become 'replyable. It will make it much easier for your to make friends in blogland.
