Oh boy, is it my day already???? Have you been following the Stitch me up blog hop? What an amazingly talented bunch of stitchers there are out there. The designs provided for the participants are stunning, and it has been great seeing everyones' interpretations of them all.
Well, I am about to humiliate myself. I started on two projects and finished neither. I've not been myself lately and am struggling to motivate myself to do much of anything. Now that I have that out of the way, I shall proceed to show you what I HAVE done. I've laid out the border fabric and binding with the projects so you can get an idea of how they should look when finished.
First up, a complete disaster. I have given up on this one as I have decided that black just shows up my poor quality stitching WAAAAAY too much.
This next project is not far off being completed. Just a few more french knots, some blanket stitching around the rectangles and, hey presto, my table runner will be done - well almost. I would like to have used a fancier stitch than just back stitch but, well, I don't know how to do any others!
If you feel like popping back here in the not too distant future you may see the finished product.
Many thanks to Madam Samm, and the wonderful Jane, who has been our cheerleader for this blog hop (Jane thank you so much for your encouragement). Also, a huge thank you to the pattern designers Debbie, Cyndi and Madam Samm!
Here are the other crafty ladies who will be posting today. Go and have a look, and be impressed! Thank you for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteAt least you tried! The topper will be gorgeous when it is done! AND there is nothing wrong with back stitch or outline stitch. It covers well and done with even stitches looks wonderful. Keep practicing!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the black thread showing up any irregularities. Give it some to time and when you get back to it, then it will most likely come together for you. Love your flowers! I find myself using the back stitch ALL the time and now it's starting to look pretty good - lol.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good! Keep trying! It's going to be so pretty and you'll be so proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteNice stitching on your flowers!
ReplyDeleteYour stitching on your flowers is just lovely and I love the table runner you've made with them--such pretty colors! The stitching on your lady looks great in the picture (except for the picked parts). Usually we're our own worst critics, so don't be too hard on yourself!

ReplyDeleteGood try as my grandson says ,practice makes perfect and he is blind so he just has to keep doing things till he gets them . He is my inspiration to keep at something.
ReplyDeleteBe brave and try a new stitch or two. I find a backstitch more difficult to undo when necessary, Your lady may thank you for it.

ReplyDeleteSorry your girl didn't turn out the way you wanted. Your table runner looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe all have to unstitch one time or another:)
ReplyDeleteFinish the stitching and you can always change the fabrics around it:)
The tablerunner is too cute!!!!
You can do this....even a 'seasoned' stitcher has to unstitch at times. I struggled with the back stitch and now I enjoy it as much as the stem stitch/outline stitch. The stem stitch is more forgiving but I use 2 strands of floss when I use the stem stitch. I use Perle cotton when I use the back stitch. Keep practicing. Your table runner is beautiful. Happy stitching, Pauline
